Forklift Clamp Truck Operator Waste Management

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Forklift Clamp Truck Operator to join our team within the waste management and recycling sector. This role involves operating a forklift with a clamp attachment to handle and transport waste materials, recyclables, and other goods safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced waste or recycling facility, ensuring that materials are moved, sorted, and processed with minimal disruption.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a forklift clamp truck to move, load, and stack waste and recyclable materials.
Ensure safe handling and transportation of baled waste, recyclables, and other bulk materials.
Perform pre-operational checks and basic maintenance on the forklift.
Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and site procedures.
Assist with general yard and warehouse duties when required.
Work alongside the operations team to ensure efficient material flow.
Keep accurate records of material movements and report any issues.

Requirements:

Valid Forklift Clamp Truck licence (RTITB, ITSSAR, NPORS, or equivalent).
Previous experience working in waste management, recycling, or a similar environment.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations in a waste facility.
Ability to work in an outdoor or industrial environment.
Comfortable handling baled waste, plastics, metals, and other recyclables.
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable:

Knowledge of waste handling procedures and recycling processes.
Flexibility to work shifts and occasional overtime if required.
Experience working in MRFs (Material Recovery Facilities) or waste transfer stations.
